New Affiliate Program Help

Hi,

I have a reasonable new online shop and we are currently setting up an affiliate program.

We want to make it one of the best affiliate programs in New Zealand but was just wondering what you guys (being experts ) think are the most important features for a great affiliate program.

Is it just a good commission rate or are things like features and help support for affiliates just as important?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Anthony,

Welcome to the forums.

You're on the right track for the start, the first thing you need to do is take into account what affiliates are looking for, not just what's easiest for your affiliate program to implement.

I'd have to say trust is the most important factor, then sales conversion, then commission levels. Once an affiliate knows they can trust your program (e.g. being up-front with the affiliate) then you'll find your program will have a big advantage over others.

Commission levels are important but even higher is the ability for your site to convert users into sales. If you're getting that right, then the affiliate knows they're getting the bast value for their traffic they can.

Thanks very much for the feedback... it has given me something to think about.

I am still developing the affiliate program so I still have a few changes and information to add etc.

I am hoping to have it all up and running by the end of the week and after your suggestions I am sure it will be well worth checking out.
