Hi Adam,
You’re in the same spot as a lot of NZ people with smaller websites.
The setup of affiliate programs is often completed by larger e-commerce websites because a reasonable level of development is needed to set the program up.
The idea is that when webmasters sign up to an affiliate program, they can then promote your product on their website and they’ll receive a commission for each sale one of their customers make after clicking through to your website.
To do this you would need to have affiliate software in place that would allow someone to login, receive a tracking link, and then track their clicks through to purchases on your website.
Some people develop their own internal systems to do this but it’s becoming more common to use some package software like the iDev Affiliate Software;

In the end it’s a decision for you to make to see if you believe the development time you put into it is going to be worth the affiliate sales.
Generally affiliate programs are only setup by larger e-commerce sites where they have development resources in place.
Hopefully that was helpful!
Cheers
